Forty four surface sediment samples were collected from Pagbilao Bay for sedimentological and foraminiferal analysis. A total of 134 species representing 56 genera and 19 families of foraminifera were identified. Using a polythetic divisive method of classification, 7 foraminiferal assemblage zones were identified: river mouth, intertidal zone - Patayan Island, intertidal zone - Bocboc point, beach, reef/carbonate platform, inner bay, and inner bay · channel. The nature of the substratum appears to strongly influence the distribution of shallow water benthic foraminifera in Pagbilao Bay.
