The flint clay at Bulala is the first of its kind to be discovered in the country and is believed to have been deposited by hydrothermal solutions. X-ray diffraction analysis of the clay shows that it is a well crystallized kaolin which is similar to the commercially known sedimentary flint clay now being mined in some parts of the United States.
