 A RESEARCH AND TECHNICAL EXTENSION PROJECT OF  THE SCHOOL OF EMSE, MAPUA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

 

I. INTRODUCTION:

            In response to the request made by the concerned residents, a preliminary engineering geological – geotechnical assessment was conducted at Puroks 9 and 11 of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.

 

Objectives:

            This preliminary assessment was conducted last September 2001 in order to assess the causes of the slope failure and predict the stability of the adjacent slopes at Purok 9 & 11, Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.  Among the other objectives  are the following:

·        To conduct preliminary geotechnical zoning and slope stability analysis

·        To immediate and  long  term prescribe remedial works for the slope
