GUIDE TO AUTHORS
A. GENERAL
1. Submission of manuscript implies that it has not been published elsewhere, and is not currently under consideration by another journal. If accepted, the manuscript will not be published elsewhere in the same form. Original paper submission should comprise of previously unpublished data, interpretations and syntheses.
2. Manuscript should be in English.
3. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors and institutions approved the publication of the manuscript.
4. The authors should provide the names, addresses, e-mail addresses and fax numbers of three to five potential reviewers. Please note that the Editor retains the right to decide whether or not the suggested reviewers are used.
5. Electronic submission of manuscripts is strongly encouraged, provided that the text, tables, and figures are included in a single Microsoft Word file or pdf file. Otherwise, three hard copies and a digital copy of the manuscript should be sent to:

6. The cover letter/title page should include the corresponding author's full address, e-mail address and telephone/fax numbers. The names of digital files should begin with the first author’s surname. All enquiries concerning the publication of accepted papers should be addressed to jgsp.ejm2011@gmail.com
B. MANUSCRIPT TYPES
Articles are full papers describing detailed results of the study. They should be approximately 50 pages of typed, double-spaced manuscript including tables, figures and references.
Short communications are short papers reporting new techniques, procedures, new findings, in the field. Papers should not exceed 10 double-spaced, typed pages.
Commentaries/discussions/reviews: These are papers that (1) seek to provide critical or alternative viewpoints on key issues or provide insights into important developments in the geosciences, or (2) summarize excellent scientific articles with high current interest.
C. REVIEW PROCESS
All manuscripts are reviewed by at least two reviewers. Decisions will be made as rapidly as possible. The editorial board will re-review manuscripts that are accepted pending revision.
D. MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. The title page should include
a. Title of the paper
b. Author names and affiliations. Please clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that e-mail address, postal address, telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided and kept up to date
2. Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections.
a. Abstract should not exceed 300 words.
b. Keywords: provide a maximum of six keywords
c. Main Body: Introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusion
d. Acknowledgements
e. References
f. Vitae: write a short (maximum 100 words) biography of each author along with a passport size photograph
3. Use the international system of units (SI).
4. Figures and maps should be in black and white. Submit each figure/map as a separate file. The images should be near the desired size of the printed version. Ensure that each figure has a caption. Submit captions separately, not attached to the figure. Remember to explain all symbols and abbreviations used.
5. Large tables should be avoided. Submit table captions separately.
6. Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is present in the reference list and vice versa.
References in the text should appear as:
a. Single author: author’s surname without initials, year of publication
b. Two authors: both authors’ surname without initials, year of publication
c. Three or more: first author’s surname without initials followed by et al., year of publication.
References in the text can be made directly or parenthetically. For example: “ as shown (Claveria and Fischer, 1991) or “Marquez et al. (2006) have shown…”
7. Reference list: references should be arranged alphabetically then chronologically. More than one reference from the same author in the same year must be clearly identified.

8. Web references: the full URL should be given. Other information such as DOI, author names, dates, etc. should also be included.
9. Journal names should be abbreviated according to word list of scientific periodicals or list of title word abbreviations (www.isn.org) |
