ABSTRACT
Pumice and pumicite are pyroclastic
rocks produced from eruptive lava of
acidic to intermediate composition.
Minable deposits are available in the
provinces of Camarines Sur and Albay.
These pyroclastic rocks can be utilized
as lightweight aggregates in concrete
mix. However, standard test of concrete
using these lightweight materials should
first be undertaken to determine their
strength as building materials.
